Installing Your Vanity Has Never Been Easier

Regency Collection Double Sink Vanity and Mirror Hutch by Magnussen Furniture

A new vanity is an easy way to give your bathroom a dramatic makeover. It's good to have a general idea of the features you want, whether it’s a double sink, matching mirror or a marble top. Then browse our wide selection to find the perfect fit for your bathroom. Once you've received your new vanity, here are some tips and advice.

Measure the Wall
Medium Classic Vanity Set by Cole & Company It's a good idea to measure out the dimensions of your vanity on the bathroom wall to see if it will conflict with any other furniture. Some people like to use painter's tape to mark the dimensions on the wall so that they can step back to get a sense of the size. If your old vanity is not allowing you to measure the wall, an easy solution is to measure its width and browse our website by size.

Remove Existing Furniture
Regency Collection Half Round Chest with Sink by Magnussen Furniture When the time comes to remove your old vanity, you may want to research all the necessary steps. There are also books on bathroom do-it-yourself jobs that will describe in detail the removal and installation process.

The first step is to make sure that you have turned off the water going to the sink and place a bucket underneath the drain for residual water drainage. Next, disconnect the plumbing underneath the vanity sink with an adjustable wrench. The third step is to remove the counter top. Keep in mind that some counter tops are permanently attached. Lastly unscrew the old unit from the wall and dispose of it properly.

Install New Vanity
Custom Collection Clarissa Large Vanity Set by Cole & Company Although this is a fairly simple do-it-yourself job, we recommend that you have a plumber look at your set-up before proceeding with installation. The general installation process is fairly simple and only has three primary steps.

First, secure your new vanity by screwing it into studs in the wall. You can find a stud by looking at where your old vanity was attached or by using an electronic stud finder.

Next, install the sink and fixtures according to the manufacturer's instructions. If it does not fit flush against your bathroom wall, you could use molding or caulking to get a snug fit.

Lastly, connect the plumbing by attaching the supply lines and drain line to the proper fixtures. Now that you have finished the installation process, gaze in wonder at your beautiful new bathroom.
